Organic Tsuyuhikari Sencha Tea was produced from the Tsuyuhikari tea cultivar. Tsuyu translates to "dew" and Hikari translates to "light" in Japanese. Processed from first flush leaves in the Fukamushi (deep steamed) style, this tea has a rich color and refreshing full bodied flavor.
Single Origin Tea:
Unlike many mass-produced green teas on the market that are created by blending leaves sourced from multiple producers, single origin teas ensure that each package is sourced from a single farm and tea variety. Furthermore, the tea fields are located along the mountain slopes of Japan’s famous tea producing region of Kawane, Shizuoka. The tea plants never receive pesticides or chemical fertilizers and have been certified organic under the Japanese Agricultural Standard since 1990.
